This policy explains what information we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to thebmwguyca.com.
Information You Give Us
When you submit our contact form, call us, or text us, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Information about your vehicle and the service or concern you are contacting us about
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our site, we and our analytics providers may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and the website or search that referred you to us.
Phone Calls
When you call us, we may keep a record of your phone number, the date and time of the call, and how long it lasted.
Some calls are recorded and may be monitored for quality and training purposes. If you would prefer not to be recorded, tell us at the start of the call and we will continue without recording. You are also welcome to reach us through our contact page or in person at the shop instead.
If you reach us using a phone number shown in one of our online advertisements, that number may be a tracking number that forwards to our shop. This lets us see which advertising is working. The phone number published on this website is our own shop line.
Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our site, and Google Ads to measure our advertising. These services use cookies and similar technologies.
We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve our website and our services. We do not combine information collected through Google Analytics with information that personally identifies you.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage Google’s advertising personalization at adssettings.google.com. Google’s own privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Do Not Track: Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no industry standard for responding to these signals, and our website does not currently respond to them.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us to:
- Answer your question or provide an estimate
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, or remind you about a service appointment
- Contact you about the status of a repair, including sending estimates or photos
- Keep a service history for your vehicle
- Improve our website and understand which advertising works
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do their work:
- Our website hosting provider
- Our contact form and customer management (CRM) provider
- Our call tracking provider
- Our analytics and advertising providers, including Google
- Our marketing agency, which maintains this website on our behalf
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
If someone purchases your vehicle and brings it to us for service, that vehicle’s service history transfers with the car. The new owner will not receive your name, phone number, or email address.
Text Messages
If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about appointments and repair status. Consent to receive text messages is voluntary and is not a condition of purchasing any service. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Your mobile opt-in information will not be shared with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have collected about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information we have collected about you
- Stop sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
To make a request, call us at (760) 716-4677 or reach us through our contact page. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised these rights.
To stop the advertising-related sharing described above, you can also use the Google Analytics and Google advertising opt-out links in the “Cookies and Analytics” section.
Children’s Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
